Storify your information…

For those of you who have started using Twitter just now, and for those of you who want to keep a thread of all that is happening in one particular event I suggest the use of Storify… In the spirit of networking and creating social stories, Storify offers you the possibility of pulling information which is publicly available online, and over popular social networks like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc. and organise the content in a story form. It’s a great tool which is freely available online. You can try your own Storify stories, with your own students or a particular kind of topic which you would be interested in.

Nowadays the use of technology has revolutionized our world, having such a good medium will enable you to communicate and inform your self with the most recent events which are happening right now. Storify is a way to keep these new developments in one place and are not lost. with Storify other people using social media will be able to access this and can be remembered. A 21st teacher can use it with students by posting a story regarding the subject being though and the students can interact with. Also other people can comment on this and you have an on going process of learning.

L-istudenti l-ħin kollu jużaw it-teknoloġija u jqattgħu sigħat twal quddiem il-kompjuter għalhekk, l-istudenti jieħdu gost jekk dak li jħobbbu huma jiġi rifless waqt il-lezzjonijiet.

  5. I think storify can really come in handy. It is the first time that I have heard about it and just had a quick peak at it and it looks really good. I think that it can really be made use of in my subject of social studies. In social studies we tackle topics that students live through everyday and I think that storify could make the lessons much more interesting by creating a story on things that are happening. It looks very user friendly and like chantelle said it saves a lot of time and time. I will surely be giving this a go in my upcoming TP 🙂

  6. Storifying would be very helpful in teaching a subject like history. As, the history curriculum contains ‘facts’ (though history is the subject where facts are least likely to be found as we have to base everything on evidence and there is no certainty in history). This tool could be used a portray how the first people might have come to Malta or how the Temples were built. In addition, Storifying would be useful as a background knowledge when it comes to the study of historical figures. It is a great way of putting students into contexts and grasp information.

  7. It is convenient to have a something like Storify. We have so many accounts on so many different websites that have one thing to view everything in one place is a godsend! Those who are in possession of a smartphone would also be able to download apps that keeps their information in one handy place! I’d suggest Pulse for those with an iDevice. 🙂

It is a very good tool to use not just by the teacher but also by the students who can actively create multimedia content, organize handouts and curate social media. It is perfect for all users to pull together content from various social networks to tell stories, is a one-stop Web publishing shop for even the most technophobic educator.
    For example the teacher can use storify to introduce students to basic Web news video. Links can then be posted on Twitter, Google+, Facebook, Instapaper and Google Reader.
